Organiser: Integrate Network
Regarding forests and forestry, this may have a broad spectrum of implications connected to the various ecosystem services and goods forests provide, from forest biomass to biodiversity and climate change mitigation, but also responding to changing societal demands towards forests. This seminar seeks to explore policy visions on the role of forests in the Green Deal, asking the following questions:
- What approach should Europe take/implement on forests in the Green Deal?
- How to deal with key issues such as climate change, biodiversity, bioeconomy and societal expectations, and also trade-offs between these issues when it comes to integrated forest management?
- What is the impact of Covid on the Green Deal in relation to forests? What needs to be done?
- What is the role of integrated forest management approaches that aim to integrate forest use and conservation in European policy?
