The European Forest Research and Innovation Ecosystem (EUFORE) is a Horizon Europe project funded by the European Union, running from November 2022 to October 2026. With the primary goal of enhancing research and innovation funding and governance within the forestry sector, EUFORE aims to establish a sustainable, transnational, co-creative environment for defining, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive research and innovation (R&I) agenda.
Strategic R&I Agenda for Forestry
Currently, EUFORE is developing a Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) for forestry and the forest-based sector. This agenda will play a crucial role in forming a future European partnership on Forest and Forestry, ensuring that research and innovation efforts are well-coordinated and effectively implemented across Europe.
For more information about EUFORE and SRIA, please read CEPF’s news article from 30 April 2024: EUFORE Project: Strategic R&I agenda (SRIA)
Ongoing Surveys
EUFORE is actively conducting three important surveys to gather insights from stakeholders within the forestry sector:
- Stakeholder engagement survey: In order to develop SRIA in the most precise way, the project is running a Stakeholder Engagement Survey to collect the views and opinion of stakeholders regarding the content of the future partnerships strategic research agenda.
- Innovation Survey: explores the innovation activities, challenges, and trends within the sector. It is aimed at organizations and private forest owners within the forestry and forest-based sectors. To participate, please visit: Innovation Survey.
- Policy Statements Survey: This survey seeks to validate 35 policy statements concerning the future implications of current EU legislative developments for forestry and the wood sector. Key questions include the potential impacts on forest management, wood supply, forest ecosystems, wood demand, and forests' adaptation capacity. To participate, please visit: Policy Statements Survey.
The EUFORE project is a significant initiative aimed at strengthening the research and innovation framework within the European forestry sector. By fostering collaboration and engagement among stakeholders, EUFORE is set to ensure a sustainable and innovative future for Europe's forests.
