The European project EUFORE is currently working on a strategic R&I agenda for forestry and the forest-based sector (SRIA), which will be used for the establishment of a future European partnership on Forest and Forestry.
To this aim, the project is running a stakeholder engagement survey to collect the views and opinion of stakeholders regarding the content of the future partnerships strategic research agenda.
Background
The European Forest Research and Innovation Ecosystem (EUFORE) is a Horizon Europe project funded by the European Union, running from November 2022 to October 2026.
The overarching ambition of EUFORE is to greatly improve the sector’s research and innovation funding and governance structure.
The project builds a sustainable, transnational, co-creative environment to define, implement and evaluate a research and innovation (R&I) agenda and roadmap for the forest-based value chains in Europe.

About SRIA
SRIA stands for Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda. One of the main outputs of EUFORE is a strategic R&I agenda for forestry and the forest-based sector, along with accompanying implementation measures and stakeholder commitments.
A SRIA is a precondition to launch a European Partnership and needs to be agreed with the European Commission. The R&I agenda setting requires an extensive stakeholder consultation process and the EUFORE project is running this.
EUFORE is using a co-design approach and working with stakeholders from both traditional and new value chains, at regional, national and European levels.
Stakeholders can get involved in workshops at EU and regional levels, EU-wide surveys and consultations, our four Thematic Working Groups which focus on different areas within the SRIA, and the SRIA writing group.
