On 28th and 29th May, the Belgium Presidency of the Council organised a meeting for EU Forest Directors, in Spa, in Hautes-Fagnes. CEPF Secretary General Fanny-Pomme Langue and Senior Policy Advisor Hélène Koch took part in this meeting.
Meeting of the EU Forest Directors
The first day of the meeting covered three working sessions on:
- Local wood and short supply chain
- Invasive alien species in European forests; and
- Fragmentation of forest policies.
CEPF gave a short presentation under the third sessions and explained the situation of fragmented EU forest-related policies, how this impacts forest owners, and how to tackle this challenge from forest owners point of view.
On the second day of the meeting participants were taken to a guided fieldtrip in Hautes Fagnes Forests.
CEPF would like to thank again the Belgian Presidency for the kind invitation to participate and contribute to this meeting.
