Small4Good

Small4Good is an EU-funded Horizon Europe project, running from January 2024 to December 2027 which aims to equip small forest owners with digital and AI tools to enhance biodiversity and ecosystem services. The project is coordinated by the Norwegian Institute of Bioeconomy Research (NIBIO) with partners from all across Europe.

The goal of Small4Good is to understand the motivations of small forest owners and to help them creating business and management models tailored to local conditions. A multi-actor living lab approach for rapid prototyping and implementation, shall ensure realistic and adaptable solutions.

The project will conduct large-scale demonstrations in four regions. Through a combination of digital tools and AI solutions, Small4Good aims to enhance the capabilities and engagement of small forest owners. The outcomes of the project shall contribute to the policy goals of the EU Green Deal including increasing the multifunctionality and resilience needs of EU forests.
