Nature and Forest Directors Meetings under the Czech presidency of the Council of the EU

The Meetings of the EU Nature Forest Directors were organised in Prague. CEPF participated both meetings that discussed among others the Nature Restoration Law, the Forest Observation, Data Collection and Reporting Framework, and the Deforestation Regulation.

Forests on the agenda of the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the EU

Sweden will take over the Presidency of the Council of the EU on 1 January 2023. The four areas that will be under the focus of the Swedish Presidency are security, competitiveness, green transition, democratic values and the rule of law.

Feedback on the proposal for a Regulation establishing a voluntary framework for certification of CO2 removals in the EU

Although many details still remain unclear or to be defined, CEPF finds the proposed regulation as an important first step in the process of creating voluntary markets for carbon removals and recognizing the valuable work of forest owners in decarbonising Europe.

FOREST EUROPE Expert Level Meeting and final report on Ukraine initiative
